CA Wildfire Evacuee Gained Courage Via Characters in Co-Authored WWII Novel

In August more than 50,000 Lake Tahoe residents evacuated the invasion of the Caldor FireWhile so many people, pets, wildlife, and firefighters to the National Guard were coping with the horrific challenges of this disaster, including destruction, separation of loved ones, anger, shock and grief--something ironically was in the works. The Caged Bird Sings was in production...   What's more, the characters' trials and tribulations gave me, the sensitive co-author much needed courage to deal with the smoke-filled air, wildfires, and mandatory evacuation. I, like Benjamin Cohen, the Jewish protagonist, ended up sending creative messages for needed help for my town to fleeing for my own family's safety. Yes, more firefighters and the military did come to South Lake Tahoe -- and it looked like a war zone.  I didn't want to ever go back. And for 20 days away from my home of 22 years, I did not know if I would have a home or mountain town to go back to during the chaos.

Author James Channing Shaw and I, aka Cal Orey, completed a ground-breaking novel of
another kind of invasion -- man versus man -- told from a brilliant and sensitive young man's perspective.
A CAGED BIRD SINGS:  A YOUNG MAN'S UNTOLD WAR CHRONICLES created and written by author, musician Dr. James Channing Shaw and co-authored by me, Cal Orey, a Catholic, and non-fiction and fiction writer.

It is a compelling historical WWII epistolary novel based in Rouen, France. This one-of-a-kind heart-wrenching and thrilling, inspirational masterpiece with twists and turns, includes a myriad of trials and tribulations. A Caged Bird Sings shows how humanity (all ages) faces hardship, mind, body, and spirit, whether it is caused by man versus man or nature's wrath. Both challenges are not without stress, anxiety, and fear of the unknown. This timeless historical novel is available in hardcover, paperback, and ebook formats. A must-read for changing times around the world.  * You can order it now at online bookstores!
